Will the fragile and potentially retiring Lindros bring the GLHL Cup back to Detroit? This writer certainly hopes so.
After negotiations began with Toronto, it was clear Detroit would do almost anything to add a primetime impact player. Detroit ended up sending center Mike Fisher and forward Alexander Frolov to the Maple Leafs for Lindros and prospect Benoit Pouliot.
Lindros's impact was felt immediately as Detroit went on to a 5-2 victory, with Lindros scoring a goal and an assist.
"This is the type of move that earns championships," said GM Derek Chaiken.
